These frustrating times have changed our religious and spiritual practices. The faith communities that we prayed and shared with are virtual or non-existent. The in-person human connection is not the same – and don’t we wonder: Where are you, God? Is God ever going to help us out of these chaotic, stressful, and dangerous times? Bob Colaresi, our convener, will lead us in the discussion of where we look for and expect to find God – exploring the “dark nights” of spiritual emptiness and absence; how we deal with these desert times. The services and rituals that awakened and empowered us are not available. God is called Emmanuel (God with us) but sometimes the Divine seems hidden. There will be some input, small group sharing as we break into groups, prompts, etc. As Bob explains; “I don’t have answers, only lots of questions!” Sometimes God is in the search.
