“A little boy cannot give himself the experience that he is invincibly loveable. He must see it mirrored back to him in his father’s eyes. If he’s so fortunate to have such a father, he internalizes that love and it becomes his self-esteem.” James Finlay
Mirrored by the Wild is an Illuman intensive, led by John Lew for any man serious about their own personal Journey of Illumination. You will be trained in mirroring another, being mirrored yourself, and ultimately being mirrored by the wild. The theme will be based on the book, “Wild Mind: A Field Guide to the Human Psyche” by Bill Plotkin. We will develop a relationship with our wholeness which gives rise to our true self, and examine our self-sabotaging complexes which give rise to our false self and ego-centeredness. This intensive will be mainly experiential supplemented with teachings rooted in depth (Jungian) psychology and the wisdom traditions. Indigenous tradition will guide us in wilderness wandering, rituals, ceremony, council, and story-telling. This intensive invites you to continue the journey you’ve been on …but going further and deeper. It starts at 7 PM on Friday October 8th and lasts until 2PM on Sunday, Oct 10th.
