Fear is such a pervasive, controlling force in our lives, particularly in these challenging days. From a sense of unease to terror, fear can prevent us from being free and willing to be vulnerable, shrink our spirit, and contribute to addictive and compulsive thinking and behaviors. Our initial response to fear is most often fight, flight or freeze – a source of paralysis. Fear is a feeling triggered by the reality or perception of danger, and in that sense, is a necessary instinct. Anxiety is living in fear of the ‘disaster’ yet to happen.
Men have traditionally not been encouraged to explore, access or express healthy responses to the real and imagined threats we experience. How do we learn to live into the healing power of the ‘sacrament of the present moment?’ How and where do we find the courage to recognize and move through our fears?
Our mentor and friend, Christopher Anderson, assisted by Bob Colaresi, will lead us in a virtual discussion on FEAR – its disabling power or enabling possibilities. There will be presentations, prompts, small group work, personal reflection, and large group discussion as time allows.
ZOOM LOGIN INFORMATION WILL BE SENT on FRIDAY MARCH 26 after ticket sales end at 5pm CST.
Register through Eventbrite. It will be good to share and search this important and relevant issue. The link to register is here.
Due to the small group sharing aspect of the session, this event is limited to men only.
